If you watched the VP debate last night you heard a lot about Sarah Palin’s BFF, Joe Six Pack. But who is he? What does he like? What does he do?We don’t know Joe Six Pack personally (though we have hooked up with his cousin, Mark Quarter Barrel…who could not keep it up), but we imagine he’d be something like this:
Description:
5′11, brown hair, brown eyes, some sort of facial hair, big hands and a tattoo of some sort (possibly his kids’ initials) on his upper arm. No actual six pack to be seen behind the slight beer belly hanging over the top of his ill-fitting denim. Read More »

To find out exactly who’s telling the truth and who’s full of moose sh*t in tomorrow’s vice presidential debate between Gov. Sarah Palin and Sen. Joe Biden, then head over to RealScoop.com.
The site, which official launches tomorrow (it’s in beta now), has developed a technology that makes it possible to tell when they’re on the level and when they’re pulling your leg. Unlike lie detectors, which measure stress levels, Real Scoop’s technology measures emotional states based on variances in voice tones. They then apply this technology to videos of celebrities and politicians and post them on the site for your nit-picking pleasure. Read More »

In this, our global economy, everything is a matter of perspective.
At this moment, there are two distinct groups of people looking at each other wonder how the F*%K they got themselves into this situation, and moreover - how are they going to get out. Their situations are grave, and the future of their lives and livelihoods hang in the balance.
As if fate had deemed it necessary to pull these polar opposites together, the world now finds US Investment Bankers and Somali Pirates in the same “boat” - so to speak.

Is God just f**king with us today or something? First the economy takes the express elevator down the sh*tter and now we hear that Playboy may be heading down the tubes. Apparently Hef has been given two options by the Playboy top brass: Let some bunnies go or let them all go.
In the midst of a financial crisis, Hugh has been ordered to fire a handful of employees or face bankruptcy. A spokesperson for Mr. Hefner wouldn’t confirm or deny the financial situation citing “It is our policy not to comment on corporate matters such as employee issues.”
With rumors of Hef’s Girls Next Door girlfriends leaving their 82-year-old boytoy to pursue other things, it raises the question: Is this the end of Playboy? With the way things are going these days, I wouldn’t doubt it. But this is just a bit too much to handle.

So it looks like the Congress is going to pass the $700 billion bailout, and that means every single American is going to get saddled with a $2,300 bill. Since that money’s coming out of your pocket, whether you like it or not, you can only think of what you would have otherwise spent that money on, if you were spending it.
What would you have rather spent $2,300 on than bailing out Wall Street?

To begin, it doesn’t matter how we got where we are. I really don’t care how often Obama wants to talk about who is to blame, but we are here now, we are screwed and we have to get out. YES, we know, McCain was not voted Miss Congeniality…we heard. And yes, no one really knows how to pronounce Ahmadinejad - we got it.
The sad part is, we sat around COED office drinking and watching the debate - and when it was done, we started talking and it was quite obvious that we were all watching different debates.

Former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and DJ Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein were both critically injured late Friday night in a plane crash that killed 4 other passengers, authorities are reporting.
“The Learjet 60 crashed on takeoff at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport at 11:53 p.m. Friday” and both Barker and Goldstein were transported to the Joseph Still Burn Center, in Augusta, Georgia, suffering “extensive burns”.
Although earlier reports feared musicians Gavin DeGraw and Perry Ferrell were on the plane as well, those facts have proven to be false at this time.
While it’s unclear what caused the crash, authorities say they saw sparks “coming off the runway” during take-off.
If we at COED find out anything more about this tragedy, we’ll let you know. Click here for updates.

At Seton Hall University the pre-game drink of choice is Sparks! Mmmm, just looking at pictures of the Sparks’ orange can makes my mouth water.
To the displeasure of America’s youth 25 US Senators (including New Jersey’s) are looking to rain on Sparks’ fan’s parade by banning the new Sparks Red. They feel the 8-percent alcohol by volume content of Sparks Red may be dangerous to students health and have called on producer MillerCoors to nix its release. Read More »

I’ll be honest: I’m a bitch. I have no problem telling it like it is, talking about someone behind his/her back or telling secrets about people I hate. This is why people fight to stay on my good side.
Which is why people are so surprised when they find out about my passion for animals. I cry when those commercials for animal shelters come on the TV, I have to look away from movies or TV shows when an animal gets injured and I wanted to personally kill Michael Vick when it was discovered he was running that evil dog fighting ring.
It is weird, I know, but I can’t help but feel for creatures who don’t have a voice to defend themselves. Yes, even if they have the teeth or claws to do so.
Like sharks. (Yes, I am being completely serious!) Sharks are most often thought of as predators, but lately off the coast of Florida they have become victims. In the past year more and more sharks have been found murdered in the water. There is no excuse for harming another life - especially an innocent one - and it is up to us to protect every creature on this planet.
Please take a moment to sign the attached petition and protect the sharks and our planet’s wildlife.

Blood in the water throughout the financial markets means many things to many people, but to us - it is an opportunity. Even students who don’t understand investing in the equities market can be a part of the rebuilding process.

“The venerable Lehman Brothers investment bank said early Monday that it will file for bankruptcy, while Bank of America unveiled plans to buy Merrill Lynch — two pieces of news that profoundly alter the American financial landscape.”
In case you’re just waking up, Wall Street is going through some major changes. Nevermind that Ike is causing oil prices to jump up yet again, two huge investment banks, both of which came through the 1930’s Depression, are in the process of folding. While Merrill Lynch may be finding new life under Bank of America, Lehman Brothers, which is 158 years old, is closing it’s doors for good.
What does this mean for you? Well, that remains to be seen. All eyes will be watching Wall Street today, hoping and praying that other stocks will stay strong in the wake of such monumental financial crumblings. It’s not news that our economy is currently shaky at best, and it may be too early to tell how exactly these two recent foldings will effect people’s wallets.
Let’s just think positively. And maybe…skip that latte this morning.

Let us begin in the beginning…
Freddie Mac’s full legal name is the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation and Fannie Mae is the Federal National Mortgage Association.
Fannie Mae was created in 1938, under President Franklin D. Roosevelt, at a time when millions of families could not become homeowners, or risked losing their homes, for lack of a consistent supply of mortgage funds across America. The government established Fannie Mae in order to expand the flow of mortgage funds in all communities, at all times, under all economic conditions, and to help lower the costs to buy a home. In 1968, Fannie Mae was re-chartered by Congress as a shareholder-owned company, funded solely with private capital raised from investors on Wall Street and around the world. Freddie Mac was created in 1970 to support the same operations as Fannie Mae.
